subroutine

Getting started · 3 min read

Make your first subroutine

Write down a few steps in the order you do them.

Choose a starting point

An empty Library offers popular public starters. Open a starter to review its steps, then choose an available destination and Add to library. Browse Discover opens the full catalog. You can always choose Build from scratch instead.

In an empty Personal Library, Use a local template reveals Morning, Wind-down and Workday shutdown. Choose a template, then Add to save it and open its editor. Local templates remain available when the public catalog cannot be reached. Their recurring triggers start turned off; review the timing before enabling them.

Start small

A routine can be short. Start with the actions you actually take, then change them as you learn what works.

  1. In Library, choose New, then New subroutine, in Personal or a space you belong to. In an empty Library, Build from scratch opens the same choices.
  2. Give it a clear name and add steps in the order you do them.
  3. Save it, then choose Run now in Library. If a trigger makes it due, you can also start it from Today.

Change it later

Return to the subroutine in your library to revise steps or timing as your routine changes.

Find another routine

The unfiltered All view in a populated Library includes Find more. A suggestion may match recent tagged activity in your current spaces; otherwise it is labeled Popular in Discover. Activity matching happens on your device. Open a suggestion to review it before adding a copy. If suggestions cannot load, you can keep using and editing your Library.
